Katie Sibley
Vice President
Katie was named Spaeth’s Vice President in January 2013. In her new role, she works on many strategic client efforts including training, consulting, coaching and media relations.
One of Katie’s first projects involved designing and implementing a multi-tiered public education initiative involving the complicated issue of groundwater rights. She worked with one of America's iconic entrepreneurs, technical experts, media, elected officials and citizens groups. She produced mini-documentaries and animations that translated technical and scientific issues to the general public as well as a website exploring the remarkable Iife history of the company progenitor.
She worked on a multi-year project with a 501C4 nonprofit collaborating with presidential candidates on the need to remove waste in government, another effort involving very complex and highly charged issues. Currently, she is working with a number of high-profile political candidates and issue campaigns.
Other strategic efforts Katie worked on include the launch a groundbreaking new internal communication effort for a global client and the development of a messaging book for a client’s global corporate culture initiative.
Katie teaches Spaeth's unique, copyrighted training. She conducts seminars and one-on-one coaching with Spaeth clients for presentations, job and media interviews, expert panels, and press conferences. Katie has been welcomed by Spaeth clients in a wide-range of industries and professions including banking, healthcare, higher education, franchising, nonprofit, politics and public affairs, government and various service-based industries.
One of Katie's key specialties is crisis communication. She has worked on a range of crises including acquisitions, boycotts, fatalities, public demonstrations, class action lawsuits and leadership transitions. Given her specialty and interest in these complex and delicate situations, Katie is always attached to her cell phone ready to spring into action. In crisis communication, the ever changing world of "media" can be a particular challenge. Katie has successfully helped clients understand the need to utilize social media. She has managed social media efforts and websites for several clients one of which has nearly 44,000 "fans."
Katie and her husband, Daniel, were both born and raised in Texas. They are expecting an addition to their family, a baby girl, in May. They live in East Dallas with Action, a giant schnauzer, who lives up to her name. Katie claims Texas as home but part of her heart lies east of the Mississippi at Ole Miss where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. Katie worked at the Ole Miss PR and Media department as well as with a U.S. Congressman and a women's magazine before joining Spaeth.
