Christopher Plummer is a senior marketing and communications executive specializing in the U.S. Hispanic market.
A Mexican American native of Mexico City, Christopher has been a Dallas resident since 1997. His unique background and education have given Christopher the ability to easily navigate the cross-cultural differences between Anglo and Spanish speaking populations. This skill makes Christopher a highly sought-after consultant on cross-cultural, cross-functional teams in many industries.
Christopher currently focuses on Hispanic marketing for Bimbo Bakeries USA, a division of Mexico’s Grupo Bimbo, one of the world’s largest baking companies. Christopher began his association with Spaeth Communications in 2000 when he was at Mission Foods, a division of the Gruma Corporation.
At Mission Foods, Christopher worked with Spaeth Communications on the recall of all food products made from Starlink corn, a genetically modified variant. At the time, the Starlink food products recall was the largest in U.S. history. Working with multiple audiences became a priority. Christopher’s marketing, sales and business acumen, and his partnership with the Spaeth team, were credited by Mission Foods’ CEO as a key factor in the successful culmination of the year-long process, which enabled the company to finish the year on-budget.
As a senior instructor and consultant for Spaeth Communications, he also provides leadership and communication coaching for senior executives using the copyrighted Spaeth methodology, He has handled sensitive assignments for one of the nation’s largest utilities, one of the largest credit card companies and several other companies. He has coached senior executives from a broad range of Hispanic backgrounds for presentations, press conferences and employee meetings, and was described by one client as “irreplaceable” after he got all the speakers at a conference to agree on common language that was essential to moving forward a critical initiative forward for the company.
Before coming to the United States Christopher had a successful ten-year career as an entrepreneur in Mexico City, starting with marketing at Procter & Gamble and Pepsi-Cola, including major project marketing roles such as the launch of Diet Pepsi and P&G’s launch of the fabric softener Downy into the Mexican market
Christopher has worked with a long list of companies doing business in the Hispanic market including: an airline, quick service restaurant, food products, broadcasting, banking and apparel industries.
Christopher has a degree in Economics and Politics from the University of Exeter in the U.K., and received his MBA from the University of Texas at Austin in 2001.
